Description
This form is in six parts and is similar to an exercise from the classic Eight Section Brocade (八段錦). It is good for lower back pain, poor kidney function, spinal spurs, sciatica, stiff neck, high blood pressure, chronic heart disease, frozen shoulder and gout.
Practice each exercise 8 times. For the elderly 4 times or if younger, 16 or 24 times.
Concepts
According to the Taoists, a person has to enhance the Qi in the body to achieve longevity. The exercise looks like exercising the arms. However, one must move the Qi first and follow by moving the body and limbs.
A beginner does not need to focus too much on Qi but practice correct form. Once this is done the body will be more flexible, the joints looser and the muscles and ligaments more relaxed. Then you can focus more on breathing and the flow of Qi.
