Developing Tai Chi Skills

Students who have reached a satisfactory level in the Tai Chi Forms and are interested in the martial art side of Tai Chi as a unique form of self-defence, may attend this course.

Developing Tai Chi Skills (Level P5)

In this course, students will be introduced to the application of Tai Chi through sensitivity training, push hands, the concepts of Fa Jin (or Issuing Energy) and uprooting. Training will consist of both solo exercises and practice in pairs. They will also learn special techniques from the little known Zuo style of Tai Chi which focuses on internal energy development and is fundamental to the mastery of Traditional Taoist Tai Chi as a martial art. Later they will also study Tai Chi sword.

Eligibility: Completion of Continuing I and II to a satisfactory standard. For Premium members and above.

Duration : Each class lasts 1½ hours, for 12 weeks
Venue : Brighton Wellness Centre, Mile Oak
