NEW: Gentle Tai Chi
For those wishing to learn Tai Chi at a more leisurely rate and with more flexibility, we have introduced our Gentle Tai Chi class on Tuesday mornings. This is a drop-in, pay-as-you-go, class with a simplified curriculum and is suitable for people wishing to learn at a slower pace, for those less physically active, or who do not wish to be committed to a weekly schedule. It can also be used as a starter course for those not too sure whether Tai Chi is for them! Participants can begin at any time! For more information, go to the course description. To register, see the table of classes below.
Tai Chi and Qigong Classes
Most of our classes are held at the headquarters of the UK chapter of the International Shen Long Tai Chi Association in Brighton, at the Brighton Wellness Centre. The Tai Chi curriculum follows that of the Shen Long schools worldwide. However, to make classes more affordable for people in the UK, we teach Tai Chi in terms of twelve weeks, one class per week. The Qigong classes, when available, run as a 20-week course.
In some cases, it is possible to attend more than one class per week at a reduced fee, certain classes are available on a drop-in payment basis. Missed classes can be made up by attending a different time and there is also a postponement clause whereby students can delay their term due to unforeseen circumstances. Discounts are also available for seniors, spouses and full-time students for most classes (see Concessions).
Seniors who are aged 60 and above.
Both spouses while attending classes.
Students in full time education. University/college students require a student ID.
Payments can be made online via Paypal or using online banking. If you prefer to pay at class, you can choose to pay by cheque or in cash. In this case, you can choose INVOICE when processing your registration. This will allow you to defer payment.
